‘Ooh I love your suitcase,’ croons anyone who has ever come across one of Globe-Trotter’s immaculate and luxurious travel companions. But those compliments needn’t be confined to transport hubs and conversations in hotels. Globe-Trotter’s Centenary Mayfair Case echoes the heritage luggage brand’s signature Centenary suitcase but reimagined in a versatile, miniature, cross-body size, so you can carry the chicness into the city, or indeed anywhere you need to go.

Honouring the style of the brand’s iconic Centenary suitcase, the Mayfair has a brilliantly lightweight frame, which is all down to the signature vulcanised fibreboard – chosen to create all Globe-Trotter cases for its extreme durability. The 120-year-old brand even strength-tested its cases in the early 20th century by persuading a one-tonne elephant to climb atop a trunk at the Zoological Garden in Hamburg, with triumphant results. Famously known as The Elephant Test, it proved the durability of vulcanised fibreboard – a tough but lightweight material pioneered by Globe-Trotter in 1897.

The Mayfair is completed with contrasting leather corners, strap and handle trimmings, which give a Globe-Trotter piece its distinctive aesthetic, reminiscent of the golden age of travel. As with most Globe-Trotter cases, the Mayfair is available in a variety of colourways. It’s hard to resist the colour-of-the-moment, oxblood, as shades of burgundy continue to take centre stage with the fashion pack, but for spring/summer 2025, opt instead for the refreshing lemon shade for a touch of sunshine wherever you go.

The khaki leaf and zesty orange versions are perfect for the stylish and discerning traveller looking for a chance to flaunt their personality while traversing off-the-beaten track locations or dining at a beachside terrace restaurant. Inside the case, the capacious interior offers plenty of room to stash your essentials when travelling. The dedicated compartments for your phone and cards are a joy for organised types and the click-to-close clasp offers a satisfying dose of security with style.

The name Mayfair pays homage to Globe-Trotter’s British heritage, as well as the brand’s flagship boutique within the prestigious Burlington Arcade retail destination located in the heart of Mayfair. Globe-Trotters are still proudly handcrafted in the ceremonial county of Hertfordshire in England but the Centenary Mayfair Case is built for international adventure and is the ideal way to show of your Globe-Trotter every day of your travels, not just at the airport.
