I’d start the day with an early morning surf session on the wild beach of Cenitz with its mythical rock waves. Then I’d have a coffee at La Providence in the centre of Guéthary village. In the afternoon, at low tide, I’d go for a swim in the small cove of Alcyons. Then I would go and make myself a pearl bracelet at Les Perles De Guéthary, a jewellery boutique run by artisans Jean-Paul and Fatima. I’d then show off my new bracelet to friends as we enjoyed a sunset aperitif at the Heteroclito, a modern seafront bar with a magnificent view of the famous waves of Parlementia. To finish, I’d have dinner at Ostalapia, a farm with rooms and a restaurant five minutes south of the village. Elisa always has a warm welcome and her restaurant is an authentic place that offers traditional local food. The terrace looks out on the Basque mountains.
