Adrien Gloaguen is the founder of Touriste, the boutique hotel group headquartered in Paris. Gloaguen has transformed the Paris small hotel scene, creating completely unique establishments designed by the likes of Chloé Nègre, Luke Edward Hall, Dorothée Meilichzon, and Fabrizio Casiraghi. Who better, then, to advise us on how to make the most of a day-into-night in France’s captivating City of Light.

With 24 hours in Paris, I would start my day with a morning walk in the Jardin des Plantes before crossing the river to our latest hotel, Hôtel Château d’Eau. I live on the Left Bank with my family, but it was the Right Bank where I opened some of my first hotels and it’s been exciting to return to the 10th arrondissement for this latest opening. The neighbourhood has changed so much over the past decade, and it’s exciting to see the constantly evolving food scene. Du Pain et des Idées, for example, is the perfect place for breakfast – its “escargot” pastries are not to be missed.

At lunch, I head to À L’Épi d’Or, where I love the interiors and neighbourhood feel. If I don’t have too much work that day, I’d visit the Pinault Collection where you can see a wonderful permanent collection of art and artist-in-residence programmes.

En route to dinner, I’ll catch up with friends with an aperitif at either Chez Jeanette in the Chateau d’Eau area, or head back over the river to the Bar de la Croix Rouge. Dinner at the Bar des Prés on the Rue du Dragon is the next stop, followed by one last margarita at Cravan!
