True adventure is rarely born on land. Indeed, had Gulliver not left Nottinghamshire, thrilling tales of his travels may have been vividly unremarkable. For some, the joy of dérivecan be foundon the hull of a ship bound thousands of miles from home. For others, it’s in the gentle hum of an airplane cabin nearing cruising altitude. But wherever the spark is lit, exploration starts when we leave the familiarity of everyday behind and set sail in search of the unknown, hoping to harness the extraordinary.
For Stone Island – a brand founded on the principle of pioneering ingenuity, and with a name inspired by the nautical works of Polish-British novelist Joseph Conrad – adventure and innovation are a heritage staple. From its home province of Modena, the brand has fostered a culture of technical excellence, social rebellion and the relentless pursuit of perfection.

The Stone Island Marina collection was founded in the 1980s, in the early days of the brand, as a place where the nautical could be explored. Today, the mission continues to make headway and, via its latest Marina collection, Stone Island taps into the form and function of classic maritime attire, bringing a sense of oceanic wanderlust to its meticulously crafted designs. Boxy shirt jackets with billowing pockets reminiscent of ship sails sit alongside rope-like double-weave knits and reflective canvas outerwear.

The effortless minimalism of the collection belies a level of technical detail, always a hallmark of Stone Island. Here, the nautical theme continues, with jackets using water- and wind-resistant coating, forged in resin baths of microspheric glass. Pops of colour echoing those worn at sea are updated for the modern era, with rich blues and stark yellows contrasted by muted coastal hues.

The silhouette is quietly edgy, at once bold in design and subtle in execution. It’s a collection that demands adventure, a work of rugged beauty and functional elegance that’s designed for the destination but built for the journey.
